Our Story
From a small group of a few families in the 1960s to the largest Romanian Pentecostal church in Canada to date, numbering over 1100 believers, the Romanian Church of God of Kitchener has always loved the Lord and valued it's children. Taking to heart the promise that "... children are a heritage from the Lord ... " (Psalm 127:3), this tight-knit community of Romanian-Canadians have done everything possible to invest in the future generation. As the congregation grew, the body of believers desired that their children be educated in a Christ-honoring environment, where academic excellence and spiritual growth are fostered, in order to best equip the next generation to always be ready to give an account for the hope that is in them. It is in this earnest desire and the tenacious hard-working ethic of the Romanians that GRCS was born!
Being a father and pastor I can attest to the importance of raising our children in a God-fearing and Christ-honoring environment. Education and personal formation start in the home with the church building further on the foundation laid by the parents. However, the greatest amount of time spent by children in their pre-secondary years is in the school environment. As such, it was our sincere belief that if our church would start a Christian private school, we would be able to capitalize on the most important years of our children's young lives, by investing in their education!
